Hotel Do’s and Don’ts
DON’T
Do not be too loud. The other guests may inform the hotel of your rowdy behaviour. Aside from being completely rude, you’re showing people that cosplayers cannot act in a mature fashion.
Do not paint or glue on the beds. Seems obvious, I know. But if you stain the sheets with this stuff you could be in trouble! (Ha, been there, done that!) Hotels require a damage deposit for this reason. It’s best to work on the floor, if you have to, because stains on the sheets tend to be the most obvious ones.
Do not cut wigs in the room. try to have wig cutting and styling done at home. Nothing sucks more than taking a shower and stepping out into a pile of itchy fake hair.
DO
Ask the hotel to provide an item. if you’ve forgot something, phone and ask the front desk. The people at the desk are there to help you and make your stay comfortable. Often hotels keep toothbrushes or other small common toiletries for guests that forget their own.
Ask for a later checkout time. a lot of hotels will give you a couple of extra hours in your room on the last day if you need it. Ask about it!
Ask the hotel to hold your bags. almost all hotels have a storage room to put people’s luggage. Before you check in and after you check out they will hold your things for you if you ask.
Remember you’re a customer! The hotel wants to make your stay pleasant and wants you to come back! The trick is to inquire as to what services they can offer you.
